Peter M. Ross, LL.M., LL.B, B.A. (Finance and Economics)

Experienced in a broad spectrum of corporate transactional matters, including financings, acquisitions, licensing of IP, trademarks and property development, Peter remotely supports his client base in the for profit, institutional and not-for-profit environments.

A primary focus is providing legal support, strategic planning and due diligence in private equity transactions for early stage companies and SME’s. This encompasses commercialization for and licensing of intellectual property, both domestically and internationally, primarily in sustainable chemistry initiatives, medical devices and engineering (bio-fuels). Peter is a registered trademark agent in Canada.

Peter also supports the incorporation, maintenance and corporate secretarial services for the not-for-profit sector, within both the provincial and federal jurisdictions.

Peter has more than 35 years as counsel to numerous private and public corporations as well as institutional entities, within financial services, real property development and the IP field, most recently as Intellectual Property Counsel to Western University and the Robarts Research Institute in London, Canada; he was also General Counsel to a publicly-traded, real property company which operated throughout Canada.

Peter is associated with an international consulting practice for the development of strategic planning initiatives within the IP field and is a former Board member and Trustee to the Licensing Executives Society (USA& Canada) Inc. and to the LES Foundation based in Reston, Virginia. Peter regularly participates as a speaker in IP related programmes.
